Between this brutal Winter, Spring being tardy to the party and Mercury Retrograde being a wrecking ball, Mother Nature has taken her toll on me! Ugh! Why did she have to be so cruel!? I totally lost my motivation. Like poof, gone! All I've wanted is my blanket and bed!
As a result, I haven't wanted to take pictures, write a blog post, work on my side hustle or anything else that would take too much energy and brain power. I didn't realize as I was going through it but now that I getting back into the swing of things, I can see that I was seasonally depressed. Seasonal depression, also referred to as the "winter blues," comes in the form of oversleeping, anxiety, lethargy, overeating, irritability, among other feelings. I know for sure that I experienced all those symptoms. I'm a "Summer Baby" (August to be exact!). I need my Vitamin D, a warm breeze and the sun's kisses all year round to be my best self! Gloomy and cold weather just doesn't work for me! The beach on a warm and sunny day is my ultimate happy place!
Now that I'm aware that my energy shifts drastically in the cold weather, I'll try to do more to combat that next winter. But BAY BAY!! It's 87 degrees today and your girl is back in full effect! That Vitamin D has recharged my battery and I'm ready to get back to work. I have so many ideas that I don't know where to start first! Not to mention, I have vacations coming up and I need to get this side hustle shmoney!
I said all of this to say, if you have experienced seasonal depression, it's time get out and get some sun! Recharge your battery by going for walks, opening up your windows, chirping with the birds! LOL. It's our time to get back to our best selves and be "Nice for What!" We're in this together.
